This month in Messenger Message Kids, we’re focusing on having Hearts Full of Thanks! 🍂
November is the perfect time to pause, look around, and remember all the wonderful things God has done for us. We want to teach our kids that gratitude isn’t just something we say — it’s something we live!
Each week, our kids will explore what it means to thank and honor the Lord with a pure heart — through prayer, worship, kindness, and joy. Together, we’ll learn that every thankful heart brings a smile to God!
🧡 Week 1: Hearts That Notice
- Challenge: Go on a “Thankful Treasure Hunt” around your home, school, or church. Find five things that remind you of God’s blessings — like family photos, nature, friends, food, or even a Bible!
- Theme Verse:“Every good and perfect gift is from above.” — James 1:17
- Reflection: Which “treasure” made you feel closest to God? How can you thank God for the simple things He gives every day?
💛Week 2: Hearts That Share
- Challenge: Pick one person to show special appreciation to this week. Write them a kind note, draw them a card, or simply tell them why you’re thankful for them.
- Theme Verse: “Encourage one another and build each other up.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11
- Reflection: How did it make you feel to thank someone? How do you think it made them feel?
💚Week 3: Hearts That Remember
- Challenge: Each night, think about your day and find three things you can thank God for — even if the day was hard. Write them in a “Heart of Thanks” journal or draw pictures of them.
- Theme Verse: “I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart.” — Psalm 138:1
- Reflection: Was it easy or hard to find things to be thankful for today? Why? How does thanking God change the way you feel inside?
